Frequently Asked Questions
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
Permitting we have the date available, you can schedule your session any time you want to, even if it's a year in advance! On average we book 3 months out. All we require is a down payment to hold your session date.
HOW DO YOU TAKE PAYMENTS?
To book and lock in your session date, we require a $69 or $35 setting fee depending on your session choice. A down payment will be due at your session and the remaining must be paid at your ordering session. Your down payment will apply 100% towards your order. We accept credit cards, checks and cash.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS THE DAY OF OUR SHOOT?
If it rains on the day of your shoot, we can reschedule for another day. Alternatively, we can move your session to an indoor location so we don't have to mess with Mr. Raincloud. If it's just a little gloomy, we can often still shoot outdoors without a problem. In fact, cloud coverage makes for some gorgeous photographs.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD FREAKS OUT?
This is a completely normal fear and we get it. Kids are unpredictable and sometimes a temper tantrum is inevitable. When this happens, we will simply take a little break, allow you to calm your child down by talking/feeding/playing and then take the appropriate steps to easing back into the session. We will never force photos, that's a promise!
CAN I SHARE THE PHOTOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
Of course. We love it when people share our photographs. We just ask that you don't crop out our logo and that you link or tag to our webpage, facebook page or blog when possible.
DO YOU DO MINI SESSIONS?
A Moment Photography offers mini sessions all year round! One of our session options is a 20 minute, 1 outfit session in my outdoor studio. The setting fee for these sessions is $35. Mini sessions are perfect for documenting stages of children’s lives or a family that is so busy!
DO WE GET THE COPYRIGHT TO OUR IMAGES?
It is not our goal to hoard your beautiful images, they are yours! We offer packages that you receive PRINTING RIGHTS to the images you purchase. We do however, reserve the right to advertise and use your images for our business. This is what you call COPYRIGHT.
Five Outfit Tips to Consider:
Props are a really important part of your photo session.
We will definitely get photographs of you without props, but we want to make sure we include pictures of you with meaningful items that represent who you are.
Selecting where you have your photos taken goes along with choosing props.
I have a whole list of locations to choose from and we'll talk details once you book. Meanwhile, it's a good idea to get the gears turning. Think about what kind of a vibe you want for your pictures. Is it earthy? Urban? Academic?
